What does the CP modifier mean?
The HCPCS Level II modifier CP means: “Adjunctive service related to a procedure assigned to a comprehensive ambulatory payment classification (c-apc) procedure, but reported on a different claim”. Append it to a HCPCS or CPT code on the claim line when the payer’s policy calls for it; placement and payment effects are defined by each payer.
